Well, there’s a big connection! And that connection is called Marketing.

Brand Ambassadors of Free Fire

Before we dive into the Free Fire brand ambassadors, let’s take a moment to talk about what brand ambassadors actually are.

By understanding this concept, you’ll get a better sense of how Free Fire has attracted an amazing 150 million daily users. It’s all about building connections and creating a buzz!

A brand ambassador is a person hired by a company to promote its products and enhance its image. They engage with audiences, share their positive experiences, and help build brand loyalty. Major Global Brand Ambassadors

Cristiano Ronaldo (2020):

Cristiano Ronaldo is a huge name in football, and his influence is felt all around the world. With more than 500 million followers on Instagram, he’s one of the most recognized personalities globally.

In December 2020, Free Fire announced Ronaldo as their brand ambassador. They even introduced him as a character in the game called “Chrono.”

This partnership was a smart move to not only make the game more visible but also to connect with Ronaldo’s massive fanbase of football lovers.

Harold Teo, the Free Fire Producer at Garena, expressed the significance of this collaboration by saying,

“This is a really significant partnership for Free Fire. Cristiano Ronaldo is a role model for many of us, and being able to collaborate with him and present him to hundreds of millions of people around the world is truly exciting.”

He also mentioned,

“Our partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo offers even more ways for our communities all over the world to enjoy Free Fire.”

The Results

After teaming up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Free Fire experienced significant results that boosted its popularity.

  • The game became one of the most downloaded mobile games worldwide, ranking at the top in 2019 and 2020.
  • The partnership helped Free Fire engage with a wider audience, significantly increasing player interest and in-game revenue through new content related to Ronaldo’s character, Chrono.

BTS (2022):

In 2022, BTS teamed up with Free Fire, and let me tell you, it was an exciting mix of music and gaming! This collaboration was called Gen FF, and it brought a whole new vibe to the game with some incredible features.

One of the coolest things was The Free Fire x BTS Show, which was the game’s first-ever virtual concert.

As part of this collaboration, Free Fire Advance Server introduced unique in-game skins that reflected the personalities of each BTS member. Players could earn themed items and rewards through events like the BTS Jewel Exchange Costume Event and the Lightstick Gacha Event, which added even more excitement to the gameplay.

BTS is a global phenomenon; their appeal and influence are unrivaled. We are absolutely excited to welcome BTS as our latest brand ambassador, and cannot wait to share the collaboration plans we have in place.— Harold Teo, Free Fire producer

Plus, the entire game environment got a BTS makeover, complete with a special lobby and training grounds that really captured the essence of the group. The collaboration ran from March 25 to April 16, 2022, and it was a fantastic celebration for both BTS fans and gamers alike. For those who participated, earning the V Badge was a special reward, adding even more prestige for players who were part of the event.

The Results

After the collaboration with BTS, Free Fire experienced significant success. The game gained a substantial boost in player engagement and visibility, thanks to the introduction of unique BTS-themed skins and in-game events that resonated with fans.

Reports indicated that Free Fire achieved a notable increase in daily active users during and after the partnership. The collaboration not only enhanced the game’s appeal but also brought in a wave of new players eager to experience the BTS-themed content. Many of these new players were keen to level up fast in Free Fire, as the event offered opportunities to progress quickly while enjoying the exclusive rewards and features.

Regional Brand Ambassadors

MS Dhoni (2023)

Free Fire made a big move by bringing in MS Dhoni as a brand ambassador in 2023, and there are some exciting reasons behind it! Dhoni is not just a cricket legend; he’s a beloved figure in India. His influence in sports made him a perfect fit for Free Fire, especially to reach out to Indian gamers.

In the game, Dhoni is represented as a character named “Thala,” which is a nod to his nickname among fans. This character isn’t just for show; it comes with special skills and abilities that reflect Dhoni’s personality, making the gaming experience feel even more personal for his fans.

Both Garena and Dhoni shared their enthusiasm about this partnership. Garena highlighted that Dhoni’s involvement aims to create a more engaging and positive gaming community, which is fantastic for players. Dhoni also expressed how thrilled he was to blend his love for sports with gaming. For those eager to experience Dhoni’s special in-game content early, you can open the Advance Server to explore exclusive features and rewards ahead of the official release.

Babar Azam and Shadab Khan (2022)

After teaming up with Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, Free Fire has experienced significant growth in Pakistan. Their collaboration has led to a notable increase in player engagement and community participation in the game.

The involvement of these cricket stars has helped Free Fire tap into the vast cricket fan base, resulting in a surge of interest in esports. This crossover has made the game more appealing to fans of traditional sports, encouraging them to explore and play Free Fire.

The promotional events and tournaments featuring the players have drawn in larger audiences, enhancing the game’s visibility in the region.

According to reports, the collaboration has successfully boosted Free Fire’s player base in Pakistan, fostering a stronger gaming community and paving the way for more esports events in the country.

Hrithik Roshan (2020)

When Hrithik Roshan joined Free Fire as a brand ambassador in 2020, it was a game-changer for fans like me! His character, “Jai,” was introduced in the game, and I was thrilled to play as someone inspired by one of Bollywood’s biggest stars. Jai truly embodies Hrithik’s charisma and style, making the gameplay experience feel even more exciting.

The collaboration wasn’t just about having a cool character; it was a smart move by Free Fire to attract Indian mobile gamers. With Hrithik’s massive fan base, Free Fire effectively connected with a broader audience. Playing as Jai brought an extra layer of fun, especially with the special in-game events and missions tied to him. It felt like I was part of a Bollywood adventure every time I jumped into a match! Plus, completing missions with Jai helped boost my KD ratio in Free Fire, making the experience even more rewarding.

The energy during these events was electric, and I enjoyed completing challenges related to Hrithik’s character. This collaboration made Free Fire stand out even more in the crowded gaming landscape, and I loved every moment of it.
